The Suncoast 10L1000 billet torque converter is designed to address issues in the Allison 10-speed transmission, such as excessive turbine slip, premature torque converter clutch failure, and excessive heat, especially when operating beyond factory power levels. It features a redesigned CNC'd billet stator for improved efficiency and reduced turbine slip, leading to lower temperatures during towing and heavy loads. The converter also boasts increased surface area and an improved coefficient for the friction material, dramatically reducing lockup time and further resolving temperature issues. It incorporates new Torrington thrust bearings, and its impeller and turbine hubs are crafted from CNC'd 4140 steel for maximum strength. Additionally, a new billet apply piston increases clamping force and corrects deflection, complemented by a new billet cover. This converter is built for demanding applications.
