The Sonnax Smart-Tech Input Housing Kit 77733-06K addresses the limitations of the GM 4L60-E, 4L65-E, and 4L70-E OE input housing, which are often the cause of 3-4 clutch burn-up in performance applications. The OE backing plate is prone to flexing during clutch apply, leading to uneven heat distribution within the clutch pack's limited space. This kit provides increased space for a taller clutch pack and a stronger backing plate to prevent heat-related failures and increase clutch capacity. It also includes numerous other improvements to the housing for maximum durability in higher-horsepower and higher-pressure applications. A version of the housing with a pre-installed heavy-duty input shaft (77733-12KA) is also available.
