Description

The Sun Coast Converters heavy duty "A" clutch backing plate is a billet steel component designed to prevent flexing in ZF8HP55, ZF8HP70, and ZF8HP75 transmissions. The factory backing plate is thin and can bow, leading to uneven clutch wear, concentrated heat, and eventual clutch burnup. This can result in slipping or the loss of 1st/2nd, 7th/8th, and Reverse gears, along with ratio codes.

This upgraded backing plate is twice as thick as the OE part, offering significantly improved protection against burnup.
