The SunCoast 47RE HD custom transbrake valve body is designed to enhance transmission operation and durability by controlling gear selection, line pressure, line rise, converter mode, flow, pressure, and shift timing/quality. It allows for crisper shifts, enhanced converter operation, cooler operating temperatures, and increased lube flow with full-time converter feed. Torque converter clutch lockup can be achieved in all forward gears when used with a controller, desirable for optimum exhaust brake operation. The HD line of valve bodies features an upgraded manual valve for full cooler flow while in park, a custom detent plug and spring to restore manual valve alignment, and a longer custom throttle valve to eliminate sticking. It also includes a recalibrated and modified torque converter clutch circuit, allowing lockup in any gear and during downshifts without cycling the torque converter clutch solenoid. A recalibrated triple wrap accumulator spring improves line rise pressure, and a custom PR spring provides the identical pressure rise curve as the 48RE, leading to cleaner shifts and longer transmission component life. This valve body provides 190 PSI with the torque converter locked in all forward gears and can be ordered with higher pressure if desired. Electronics are sold separately.
