SunStat CommandPlus Programmable Wi-Fi Floor Heating Thermostat

The SunStat CommandPlus by SunTouch serves as an all-in-one controller for electric floor heating systems, offering both air and floor temperature sensing modes. The device features a modern design with a high-resolution, dimmable 3.5-inch to 4.3-inch touchscreen display and is compatible with the Watts Home app for convenient remote scheduling and energy use monitoring. Technically, the unit supports up to 1800 watts at 120V or 3600 watts at 240V. It features built-in 5 mA Class A GFCI protection for safety and includes a dry contact input for integration with external home automation systems. The thermostat is backward-compatible with SunStat R4 and Relay 3 models (500880), allowing for system expansion without replacing existing relays. Each unit includes a 15-foot floor sensor wire, and the device is UL-listed under UL 943 and UL/CSA 60730 standards. Installation requires a standard 1-gang or 2-gang electrical box, depending on the orientation, and 12-14 AWG wiring. While a dedicated circuit is recommended, tapping into an existing circuit is permissible provided there is sufficient capacity for the heating load.
