Super 42 Turbocharger

The JMTC Super 42 turbocharger is a high-performance upgrade designed to deliver significant boost at the top end for Mini Cooper S and JCW models equipped with N14 and N18 engines. This unit features an upgraded 42mm compressor and a lightened, high-flow exhaust turbine, complemented by high-strength K04 internals. Its dual-scrolling turbine housing and water-cooled bearing housing contribute to improved spool times, sustained power, and enhanced durability. For optimal performance and to unlock its full potential, JMTC recommends pairing this turbocharger with an aftermarket exhaust system. A tune is required to achieve significant horsepower gains; running without a tune will result in minimal to no HP increase. Installation requires an ECU tune to remove power limits, one step colder spark plugs (JCW or equivalent recommended; Bosch or Beru not advised), and a new oil supply line. The OEM intake boot may need slight modification for N18 engines, and aftermarket intakes might require warming or stretching. Additionally, it is crucial to ensure a clean or new aftermarket catalytic converter and intercooler to prevent boost codes. This turbocharger is not for sale or use in California on any pollution-controlled vehicle, as per the California Air Resources Board. It fits various Gen2 MINI models including R55, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60, and R61 Cooper S and JCW variants from 2007 through 2016.
