Description

The Hooker 6224HKR Super Competition Header is a full-length performance exhaust header engineered to facilitate 429-460 big block engine swaps into 1979-1993 Ford Mustangs and 1979-1986 Mercury Capris. Built from 16-gauge mild steel, the unit features 2-inch primary tubes with a 31-inch length, designed to improve exhaust pulse scavenging and overall engine efficiency. Key technical specifications include a 3-inch collector diameter and a robust 5/16-inch thick machined flange to ensure a precise, leak-free seal. The header is finished in a durable black coating and arrives with the necessary installation hardware, including mounting bolts and exhaust gaskets. Installation requires the removal of stock exhaust manifolds and associated components like the oil dipstick and tube.
