The Zionsville Autosport BMW E39 E38 Super Duty Cooling Kit is engineered as a comprehensive cooling solution for V8-equipped E38 and E39 series BMWs manufactured between 1999 and 2003. This kit targets and replaces the most common failure-prone components: the radiator, expansion tank, and the stock engine-driven fan. The kit's design focuses on maximizing cooling efficiency. The alloy fan shroud and a 16-inch Spal electric fan work together to pull 2070 cfm through the entire radiator core, ensuring effective cooling even when the vehicle is stationary. This approach avoids the inefficiencies and potential damage associated with fans mounted directly through the radiator core, which can fatigue cooling tubes over time. The system offers improved sealing and increased airflow without the parasitic drag of an engine-driven fan, and replaces potentially disintegrating stock fans that can cause significant system damage. Constructed from repairable all-alloy materials with Euro aluminum cores, this radiator boasts improved heat dissipation and increased fluid capacity. It is hand-welded, avoiding epoxy, and is impact-resistant. Furthermore, the expansion tank is designed with greater resistance to degradation from higher heat soak temperatures found in V8 and V12 engines, retaining original cap and internal plumbing features for optimal coolant expansion and contraction management. The system has been tested at 4X operating pressure. Customers can choose between a Single Speed Fan Kit, which retains the factory auxiliary fan and operates the SPAL fan on its own circuit at one speed, or a Two Speed Fan Kit. The Two Speed option includes two wiring kits and a resistor, allowing the SPAL fan to operate at either low or high speed based on engine temperature, reducing wind noise when high-speed operation is not necessary. The kit includes an alloy radiator, alloy fan shroud, alloy overflow tank, 16-inch Spal Electric Fan, coolant level sensor, rubber mounts, petcock valve, seal ring, temperature switch, sensor connector, sensor wire, a fan relay kit, and for the two-speed option, an additional fan relay kit and resistor. The product is made in the USA and comes with a Lifetime Warranty to the original purchaser, provided proof of BMW coolant use at first installation and every two years thereafter is maintained.
