Overview

The GForce transmission crossmember is a bolt-on component designed for GM F-Body vehicles from 1970-1974. It is constructed from Super Duty Steel with a black powder coat finish and is made to accommodate dual exhaust systems.

This crossmember is specifically designed for use with 4L80, 4L80E, 4L85, 4L85E, or E4OD transmissions. Installation is described as easy, taking approximately 20 minutes. Mounting hardware is included.

The GForce RCF2E-4L80 transmission crossmember is a robust, bolt-on upgrade engineered for 1970-1974 GM F-Body models (Camaro, Firebird, Trans Am) when equipped with 4L80, 4L80E, 4L85, 4L85E, or E4OD transmissions. Installation is straightforward and can typically be completed in about 20 minutes. The crossmember features a double-hump design for exhaust clearance and includes all necessary mounting hardware. However, it is recommended to use a polyurethane transmission mount (GMTM), which is sold separately. When fitting this crossmember to 1970-1974 F-Body frames, be aware that the distance between the frame mounting holes is 30-1/2 inches. It is crucial to measure your frame accurately before ordering to ensure proper fitment. Additionally, to utilize the provided 7/16″ hardware, you may need to enlarge the holes in your frame rails with a 1/2″ drill. If you opt to use the stock 3/8″ hardware, using new Grade #8 fasteners is strongly recommended for adequate strength.
