The OS Giken Super Lock LSD is a limited-slip differential engineered with a patented pressure ring design, enabling smooth and progressive locking action. This innovative design features a spline-through-side-gear configuration that accommodates up to twice the number of friction plates found in competing differentials, ensuring enhanced performance and traction. Constructed for maximum durability, all components undergo chemical heat treatment. The gears are raw-forged for superior strength, while the clutch disks are precisely machined on both sides simultaneously to extremely tight tolerances, minimizing warpage. The LSD case itself is machined from a single billet piece, guaranteeing uniformity and structural integrity. The standard specification of the OS Giken LSD allows for low preload while maintaining a fully progressive 100% lock capability. This results in quiet operation and predictable locking, significantly improving the driving experience without compromising everyday drivability when replacing an open differential. For applications with substantially higher power outputs, OS Giken offers in-house tuning services to adjust differential action for optimal traction. Initial torque can be modified using different cone springs, and lock progression timing can be fine-tuned with varying pressure ring springs. Further customization is possible through ramp angle adjustments by swapping the pressure ring and iron cross. Additionally, TCD spec disks can be installed to enhance oil cooling and ensure even smoother operation.
