The OS Giken Super Lock LSD is engineered for the Toyota JZA80 Supra featuring the 6-speed manual transmission and the 2JZGTE engine with a 220mm ring gear. It utilizes a patented pressure ring design for smooth, progressive locking action. This design allows for up to twice the number of friction plates compared to competitor versions, contributing to its robust performance. Constructed with durability in mind, all components undergo chemical heat treatment and are made from a high-grade steel alloy. The gears are raw-forged for maximum strength, and the clutch disks are precision-machined to exceptionally tight tolerances to minimize warpage. The LSD case is machined from a single billet piece, ensuring uniformity and consistent performance. The standard specification offers low preload with full progressive 100% lock capability, providing a quiet operation and predictable engagement that enhances the driving experience while maintaining everyday drivability. For those with significantly increased power output, OS Giken offers in-house tuning services to adjust the differential's action for optimal traction. The initial torque can be modified using different cone springs, and the lock progression timing can be fine-tuned with varying pressure ring springs. Further customization is possible by swapping the pressure ring and iron cross for different ramp angles, and TCD spec disks can be installed for enhanced oil cooling and smoother operation. Specifications for this LSD include 1.5-way ramps (25/38), a lock timing of 336, 28 total plates, and 12S preload. Installation requires referring to the OEM Service Manual.
