The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver ultimate stopping power for your MINI R53 Cooper. This kit integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and maintain optimal brake pad performance through continuous cooling and refreshing. The SuperComp caliper itself is a marvel of engineering, forged from aircraft-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum. It boasts a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, contributing to its extreme lightweight design and effective heat dissipation. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM setups, while the included stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each SuperComp caliper requires four brake pads due to its substantial size. This kit features a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design also mitigates thermal stresses that can cause disc warping or cupping. The rotors are available in cross-drilled or slotted options; cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles due to cooler operation, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Both rotor types offer increased bite and actively clean and refresh the pad surface. All rotors are heat-treated and balanced prior to shipment. The standard offering includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which are NAOC ceramic pads optimized for street and occasional track use, operating effectively between 194°F and 1022°F. These pads reduce brake dust by over 50% compared to race pads and minimize noise and rotor wear. An optional upgrade to Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) is available for extreme track conditions, with optimal operating temperatures between 482°F and 1472°F; these are not recommended for street use. The kit is made to order and includes a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturer defects.
