The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide superior stopping power for your Volkswagen B7 Passat Late Model. This comprehensive kit integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and ensure consistent cooling of the brake pads during demanding driving conditions. The SuperComp caliper is a highlight of this kit, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. It features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, and incorporates protection grooves for bridge tubes. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while the stainless steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each SuperComp caliper requires four brake pads due to its substantial size. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design mitigates thermal stress, preventing warping and cupping of the braking surface under extreme heat. The rotors feature a unique slot design to minimize braking noise and efficiently expel gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Buyers can choose between cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily driving due to cooler operation, or slotted rotors, suited for more aggressive track use. Standard with the kit are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, designed for optimal performance in street and occasional track use, operating effectively between 194°F – 1022°F. These pads offer reduced dust and noise compared to race pads. Optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads, made from carbon metallic, are available for extreme track conditions with an optimal operating range of 482°F – 1472°F, though they are not recommended for street use.
