The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide superior stopping power for the rear of your Mercedes-Benz W215 CL-Class. This system integrates advanced brake technology, including larger pistons and advanced caliper construction, to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously refresh the brake pad surface during braking. Key components of the SuperComp kit include an extreme lightweight caliper, forged from aircraft-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum. This caliper features differential bore configurations, larger pistons, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM systems, while the included D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines minimize line expansion under pressure, leading to improved pedal feel and quicker response. Due to the substantial size of the SuperComp calipers, each caliper utilizes four brake pads. The kit features a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This design also prevents thermal stresses from warping the disc or cupping the braking surface. The rotors are heat-treated and balanced prior to shipment for optimal performance. Customers can choose between cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily-driven vehicles due to their cooler operating temperatures, or slotted rotors, recommended for more frequent track use. Both rotor types offer increased "bite" and continuously clean and refresh the pad surface. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, made from NAOC ceramic, offering optimal braking performance for street and occasional track use with operating temperatures between 194°F – 1022°F. These pads reduce brake dust by over 50% compared to race pads and minimize noise and rotor wear. For dedicated track use, optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available, providing maximum stopping power with optimal operating temperatures between 482°F – 1472°F, though they are not recommended for street use.
