Supercomp 400mm x 36mm 8-Piston Big Brake Kit

The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit offers enhanced stopping power for your BMW E53 X5. This front kit features a massive 400mm x 36mm 2-piece floating disc assembly, designed to reduce thermal stress and prevent warping. The system incorporates Ksport's extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. This caliper boasts a differential bore configuration with much larger pistons than their ProComp models, utilizing aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design significantly improves pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM setups, while stainless-steel brake lines ensure consistent pedal feel by preventing expansion under pressure. This kit includes unique slot designs on the rotors to reduce braking noise and expedite the expulsion of gas and pad debris, ensuring optimal performance. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced. For daily driven vehicles, cross-drilled rotors are recommended for cooler operation, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, designed for optimal street and occasional track performance with lower dust and noise. Optional RC5 Race Pads, made from carbon metallic, are available for extreme track conditions but are not recommended for street use due to their high operating temperature requirements. The SuperComp caliper itself weighs just over 7 lbs and features machined protection grooves for bridge tubes. Due to its substantial size, each caliper requires four brake pads. All kits come with CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets for direct bolt-on installation to the OEM caliper location and D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines for improved pedal feel and response. The kit is made to order and comes with a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturer defects.
