Supercomp 400mm x 36mm Big Brake Kit

The Ksport SuperComp Front Big Brake Kit provides the ultimate in stopping power for your Porsche 987 Cayman. The SuperComp caliper is an extreme lightweight component forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, weighing just over 7 lbs each. It features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than ProComp calipers and has machined protection grooves for bridge tubes. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM designs, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each caliper in the SuperComp series requires four brake pads. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design prevents thermal stresses from extreme heat from warping the disc or cupping the braking surface. The unique slot design on the rotor minimizes braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional slot designs. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Standard with the kit are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which are NAOC ceramic pads designed for optimal performance under street and occasional track conditions. These pads offer reduced brake dust, noise, and rotor wear compared to race pads, with an average coefficient of friction between 0.46 and 0.53. Optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads, made of carbon metallic, are available for extreme track conditions but are not recommended for street use due to their higher optimal operating temperatures.
