SuperComp 8 Piston 400mm Slotted Big Brake Kit

This rear kit features a SuperComp 8 Piston caliper finished in red, paired with a substantial 400mm (16-inch) slotted rotor. The advanced design integrates new brake technology to substantially reduce brake fade and continuously cool the brake pads during intense braking. The caliper itself is machined from aircraft-quality billet, resulting in an extremely lightweight component (just over 5 lbs) with a differential bore configuration. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances caliper rigidity and pad wear compared to OEM systems. Stainless steel brake lines are included to prevent expansion under pressure. This kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which effectively reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating design also mitigates thermal stresses caused by extreme heat, preventing rotor warping or cupping. The specialized slot design on the rotor contributes to reduced braking noise and more efficient expulsion of gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. While cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily drivers due to cooler running temperatures, these slotted rotors are ideally suited for vehicles seeing more track time than daily driving. This specific big brake kit is an application for the 1993-1997 Honda Civic Del Sol. It is important to note that the OEM handbrake will not function with this kit installed.
