The Ksport Procomp Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide superior stopping power for performance vehicles, specifically designed for the 2005-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. This front brake upgrade system integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously refresh the brake pad surface during operation. The kit features a striking red SuperComp 8-piston caliper, machined from aircraft-quality billet. These calipers are exceptionally lightweight, weighing just over 5 lbs each, and incorporate differential bore configuration, machined protection grooves for bridge tubes, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM setups, while stainless steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. The included 400mm, 2-piece floating disc assembly minimizes both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design also combats thermal stresses caused by extreme heat, preventing rotor warping or cupping. The unique slot design on the rotors is optimized to reduce braking noise and efficiently expel gas and pad debris, offering better performance than conventional slot designs. Slotted rotors are recommended for track use, while cross-drilled rotors are suggested for daily-driven vehicles for cooler operation.
