The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit offers a significant upgrade in stopping power for your Volvo V90's front brakes. This kit is Ksport's most extreme bolt-on brake solution, integrating advanced brake technology to dramatically reduce brake fade and continuously cool the brake pads. The SuperComp caliper is forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, featuring differential bore configurations with larger pistons for enhanced performance. It weighs just over 7 lbs and includes features like aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design improves pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM systems, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Due to the caliper's size, each unit requires four brake pads. This kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly to reduce rotating and unsprung weight, and to mitigate thermal stresses that can cause warping. The rotors feature a unique slot design that reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris efficiently. Cross-drilled rotors are standard and recommended for daily driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are suggested for track use. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which are ceramic pads designed for optimal performance in street and occasional track use, offering reduced dust and noise. Optional RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available for extreme track conditions. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are also standard, improving pedal feel and response.
