The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit represents the pinnacle of braking system upgrades, engineered to deliver unparalleled stopping power for your Mitsubishi Eclipse (2000-2005) without necessitating any vehicle modifications for installation. This advanced bolt-on system builds upon Ksport's Procomp kit, incorporating larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads for a substantial increase in performance. The calipers are precision-machined from a solid billet of aerospace-grade aluminum, ensuring a lightweight yet exceptionally strong and corrosion-resistant component. They feature one-piece construction, providing consistent thickness and durability. Inside, aluminum pistons offer superior heat resistance, while high-temperature seals and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates maintain performance under extreme conditions. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM systems. This kit utilizes a floating two-piece rotor design, standard on all Supercomp systems. The outer rotor section can shift slightly to accommodate thermal expansion, reducing brake drag and improving self-centering within the caliper for more even pad application and performance. Ksport offers rotors in both slotted and cross-drilled options; slotted rotors are recommended for track use due to their enhanced heat dissipation and debris expulsion, while cross-drilled rotors are advised for daily drivers as they run cooler. The kit also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent hose expansion under pressure, leading to a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel. Included in the Standard Kit are two forged monoblock aluminum calipers, two lightweight two-piece rotors (slotted or drilled), one set of SC5 Street Brake Pads, two stainless steel brake lines, and all necessary mounting hardware. These pads operate effectively within a temperature range of 194°F to 1022°F. Please note that Ksport Big Brake kits are built to order and typically require a 4-6 week production and delivery time.
