Supercomp 8-Piston Rear Big Brake Kit

The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit represents an extreme bolt-on brake upgrade engineered to deliver maximum stopping power for your Volkswagen MK7 Golf. This kit integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and ensure continuous cooling and refreshing of the brake pad surface under demanding conditions. The heart of this system is the extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, forged from aircraft-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum. It features a differential bore configuration with much larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, weighing just over 7 lbs each and incorporating machined protection grooves. Standard components include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM systems, while the stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Due to the caliper's size, four brake pads are standard per caliper. Included is a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping and surface cupping. The unique slot design on the rotor reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional designs. Each rotor is heat-treated and balanced prior to shipment. The kit comes standard with cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily driven vehicles due to their tendency to run cooler. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are also standard, improving pedal feel and response. Customers can choose between Ksport SC5 Street Pads (ceramic, designed for optimal street and occasional track performance with optimal temperatures between 194°F – 1022°F, reducing brake dust and noise) or Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic, for extreme track conditions with optimal temperatures between 482°F – 1472°F, not recommended for street use). The kit is made to order, and customers must acknowledge that it is non-refundable once the order is placed. The kit is compatible with VW Golf/GTI Mk7 models from 2015-2017 with either the Golf or Sportwagen body style and the 1.8T engine.
