The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit is engineered as the ultimate stopping power solution for your Toyota 86. It builds upon the Procomp kit by incorporating larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, along with increased piston count and standard full-floating rotors for enhanced self-centering within the caliper. The calipers are a standout feature, boasting one-piece construction from a solid billet of aerospace-quality aluminum. This method eliminates weak spots common in cast or welded calipers, preventing fracturing, warpage, and failure. The calipers house aluminum pistons, which offer superior heat resistance and corrosion immunity, ensuring consistent operation even under demanding conditions. An opposed-piston design guarantees even brake pad grip and wear. High-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates are also standard. The kit includes lightweight two-piece rotors, available in either slotted or cross-drilled options. This reduced rotational mass contributes to quicker brake response. The two-piece design also mitigates rotor warping by allowing the outer section to expand and contract independently. For daily drivers, cross-drilled rotors are recommended for cooler operation, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use due to their ability to dissipate heat, dust, and gases. Further enhancing performance and durability, the Supercomp rotors feature a full-floating design to minimize temperature buildup and prevent pedal fade. This design allows the outer rotor section to shift slightly, improving self-centering in the caliper, reducing brake drag, and boosting overall performance. The kit comes standard with SC5 Street Brake Pads, offering optimal performance for street and occasional track use, with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The system also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent expansion under pressure for a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel.
