Supercomp Big Brake Kit

The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit represents the pinnacle of brake system upgrades for the Toyota Supra models from 1987 to 1992. It builds upon the features of Ksport's Procomp kit by incorporating larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, along with an increased number of pistons for superior performance. At the core of this kit are Ksport's lightweight, forged one-piece calipers, meticulously machined from aircraft-grade aluminum for exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. These calipers house aluminum pistons, which offer better heat resistance, and feature differential bore configurations with larger pistons than the ProComp series for massive stopping power. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity. The calipers are paired with CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets that allow the system to bolt directly to the OEM caliper bracket locations. The kit includes SC5 NAOC Ceramic pads, designed for optimal street and occasional track use, offering reduced dust and noise while operating effectively between 194°F and 1022°F. Standard D.O.T. compliant stainless steel braided brake lines are included to prevent line expansion under pressure, resulting in quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel. The Supercomp systems feature a standard two-piece floating rotor design. The outer section of the rotor can shift slightly, improving self-centering within the caliper, reducing brake drag, and ensuring more even application. This floating design also helps to mitigate thermal stresses, preventing disc warping and cupping under extreme heat. Buyers can choose between slotted or cross-drilled rotors: cross-drilled are recommended for daily-driven vehicles due to better cooling, while slotted rotors are recommended for track use to expel gas and pad debris more effectively.
