The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit represents the pinnacle of braking performance upgrades, engineered to deliver maximum stopping power for your Volkswagen Golf GTI (2006-2009) without requiring vehicle modifications for installation. This sophisticated, bolt-on system builds upon the Procomp kit with larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, a higher piston count, and standard full-floating rotors for superior self-centering action. The calipers are a standout feature, boasting a lightweight forged one-piece construction from aerospace-quality aluminum billet. This method ensures uniform thickness and exceptional strength while resisting corrosion. Inside, aluminum pistons offer enhanced heat resistance, and high-temperature seals and stainless steel brake pad wear plates are standard. The opposed piston design boosts pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM setups. This kit utilizes a floating two-piece rotor design, where the outer section can shift slightly for better self-centering within the caliper. This reduces brake drag and improves performance through more even pad application. Rotors are available in either slotted or cross-drilled options, with slotted recommended for track use and cross-drilled for daily driving due to their cooler running temperatures. The kit includes NAOC Ceramic SC5 Street Pads, designed for optimal street and occasional track performance, significantly reducing dust and noise compared to race pads, with an optimal operating temperature range of 194°F - 1022°F. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are included, preventing line expansion under pressure for quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel.
