The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit (BKBM111-951CO) delivers the ultimate in stopping power for your BMW E60 M5. The SuperComp caliper is forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than OEM, and weighs just over 7lbs. It includes aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and rigidity, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Due to the caliper's size, four brake pads are standard per caliper. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design also mitigates thermal stresses that can cause disc warping. The rotors feature a unique slot design to reduce braking noise and expel gases and pad debris efficiently. The rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are included, recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler. Optional slotted rotors are available for more track-focused use. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, designed for optimal performance under street and occasional track conditions with optimal operating temperatures between 194°F – 1022°F. These pads reduce brake dust by over 50% and minimize noise and rotor wear compared to race pads. For extreme track use, Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available as an option, with optimal operating temperatures between 482°F – 1472°F; these are not recommended for street use. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are also standard, improving pedal feel and response. The kit is made to order and comes with a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturer defects.
