The caliper itself is forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, boasting a lightweight yet robust construction with larger pistons than their ProComp line. It includes features like differential bore configuration, machined protection grooves, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while the included stainless-steel brake lines resist expansion under pressure. Each caliper requires four brake pads due to its size, and options for both Street (SC5) and Race (RC5) pads are available, each tailored for different driving conditions and temperature ranges. This kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly to reduce both rotating and unsprung weight, while also mitigating thermal stresses that can lead to warping or cupping of the braking surface. The unique rotor slot design minimizes braking noise and efficiently expels gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Buyers can choose between cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily drivers due to cooler operation, or slotted rotors, preferred for track use.
