The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide the ultimate in stopping power for your Volvo V90. This kit utilizes advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously cool and refresh the brake pad surface during braking. This kit features Ksport's extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, crafted from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. The caliper boasts a differential bore configuration with substantially larger pistons compared to their ProComp calipers, weighing just over 7 lbs each. It includes machined protection grooves for bridge tubes, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM systems, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each SuperComp caliper requires four brake pads due to its size. The system includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly designed to reduce both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating disc construction mitigates thermal stresses that can cause warping or cupping of the braking surface. The rotors feature a unique slot design that reduces braking noise and more effectively expels gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles due to their cooler operating temperatures, while slotted rotors are suggested for more track-focused use. Standard with the kit are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, composed of NAOC ceramic material. These pads are optimized for street and occasional track use, with optimal operating temperatures between 194°F – 1022°F. They offer a significant reduction in brake dust and noise compared to race pads, with an average coefficient of friction between 0.46 and 0.53. Optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available for extreme track conditions, with higher optimal operating temperatures (482°F – 1472°F) making them unsuitable for street use.
