SuperComp Caliper

This kit integrates new brake technology to substantially reduce brake fade and ensure consistent performance by cooling and refreshing the brake pad surface under heavy use. The SuperComp caliper is a key feature, machined from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. It boasts a differential bore configuration and significantly larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, enhancing braking force. The caliper weighs just over 7 lbs each and includes integrated protection grooves for bridge tubes. Standard components include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates, contributing to improved pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM designs. The opposed piston caliper design is also crucial for this. This kit utilizes a two-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating design allows the outer disc section to shift, facilitating self-centering within the caliper, minimizing brake drag, and ensuring more even pad application for boosted performance. This floating capability also prevents thermal stresses from warping the disc or cupping the braking surface under extreme heat. The rotors feature a unique slot design that greatly reduces braking noise and more efficiently expels gas and pad debris. Ksport offers a choice between slotted rotors, recommended for track use, and cross-drilled rotors, which run cooler and are advised for daily-driven vehicles. D.O.T. compliant stainless steel braided brake lines are included, which prevent line expansion under pressure, leading to quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel. Ksport Big Brake kits are built to order, with an estimated production and delivery time of 4-6 weeks. Fitment is specifically for the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R rear application.
