SuperComp Caliper System

The SuperComp caliper is an extreme lightweight component forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, weighing just over 7 lbs. It features a differential bore configuration with significantly larger pistons than ProComp calipers, along with aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM systems, while the stainless-steel braided brake lines resist expansion under pressure. Each SuperComp caliper requires four brake pads due to its size. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping or cupping of the braking surface. The unique slot design on the rotors helps reduce braking noise and efficiently expels gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment to ensure peak performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Ksport offers SC5 Street Pads (ceramic) as standard, with an option for RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic), though race pads are not recommended for street use due to their high operating temperatures. All Ksport Big Brake Kits come with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturer defects. Note that Ksport Big Brake kits generally fit 2WD vehicles unless otherwise specified. This particular kit is designed for the BMW E46 3 Series from 1999-2006, excluding the 330 and xi models. It is important to verify fitment for specific submodels like the 330Ci and 330i with the M54 3.0L engine. These kits are made-to-order and are non-refundable.
