Overview

This kit features a lightweight SuperComp caliper, machined from aircraft quality billet, in a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than ProComp calipers. It includes aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while stainless steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. The kit also comes with a 2-piece floating disc assembly that reduces rotating and unsprung weight and prevents thermal stress warping. The unique slot design on the rotor minimizes braking noise and expels gas and debris quickly. Every rotor is heat-treated and balanced before shipment for optimal performance. Slotted rotors are recommended for track use.

This SuperComp Big Brake Kit (BKSB020-961SO) is designed to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously cool and refresh the brake pad surface during braking. The extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper is machined from aircraft quality billet and features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers. It weighs just over 7lbs each and includes machined protection grooves for the bridge tubes. Standard features on each caliper include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design offers improved pad wear and greater caliper rigidity compared to OEM designs. The included stainless steel brake lines help prevent hose expansion under pressure. SuperComp systems come standard with a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating disc design also prevents thermal stresses from extreme heat from warping the disc or cupping the braking surface. The unique slot design on the rotor effectively reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more rapidly than conventional slot designs. Each rotor is heat-treated and balanced before shipment to ensure the best possible performance. The source notes that while cross-drilled rotors tend to run cooler and are recommended for daily driven vehicles, slotted rotors are recommended for vehicles that will see more track use than daily driving.
