SuperComp Extreme Lightweight Caliper

This sophisticated bolt-on brake system enhances performance by reducing brake fade and actively cooling the brake pads during operation. At the heart of this kit is the extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, constructed from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. It boasts a differential bore configuration with significantly larger pistons than their ProComp counterparts, contributing to massive stopping power. Each caliper weighs just over 7 pounds and features integrated protection grooves for bridge tubes. Standard components include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM setups, complemented by stainless-steel braided brake lines that resist expansion under pressure. Due to their substantial size, the Super 8 Pot calipers require four brake pads per caliper. This kit features a 2-piece floating disc assembly that reduces both rotating and unsprung weight, while also mitigating thermal stresses that can cause warping or cupping of the braking surface. The uniquely designed slots on the rotor minimize braking noise and efficiently expel gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. The included SC5 Street Pads are NAOC ceramic, designed for optimal performance on the street and occasional track use, operating effectively between 194°F and 1022°F. They significantly reduce brake dust, noise, and rotor wear compared to race pads, with an average coefficient of friction between 0.46 and 0.53. For dedicated track use, Ksport RC1 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available as an option, though not recommended for street driving due to their higher optimal operating temperature range of 482°F – 1472°F.
