The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit offers a significant upgrade in stopping power for your vehicle. The systems are built for straightforward installation, typically requiring only basic tools. At the core of this kit is the extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, precision-forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. It boasts larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, enhancing braking performance. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design significantly improves pad longevity and caliper rigidity compared to OEM setups. High-performance, D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are included to eliminate expansion under pressure, leading to a firmer pedal feel and quicker response. The SuperComp kits incorporate a 2-piece floating disc assembly. This design not only reduces both rotating and unsprung weight but also mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping or cupping. The rotors feature a unique slot design that reduces braking noise and efficiently expels gas and pad debris. Each rotor is heat-treated and balanced for peak performance. This specific kit includes cross-drilled rotors, which are recommended for daily drivers as they tend to run cooler than slotted rotors. This kit is specifically designed for the Porsche 987 Cayman models from 2006-2012, with compatibility for the 2.7L engine (2006-2008) and the 2.9L engine (2009-2011). The kit includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which are designed for optimal performance under street and occasional track conditions, offering reduced dust and noise. An option for Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) is available for dedicated track use, though they are not recommended for street driving due to their high operating temperature requirements.
