The Ksport SuperComp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver maximum stopping power and significantly reduce brake fade for your Volkswagen MK4 Golf 1.8T. This complete, bolt-on upgrade integrates advanced brake technology to continuously cool and refresh the brake pad surface during braking, ensuring consistent performance. The SuperComp caliper is an extreme lightweight design forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, weighing just over 7 lbs. It features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons for enhanced performance, along with aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design improves pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM systems, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each caliper requires four brake pads due to its larger size. This kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design also mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping and cupping of the braking surface. The rotors feature a unique slot design that reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more efficiently than conventional designs. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles, while slotted rotors are suggested for more track-oriented use. Included as standard are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which are NAOC ceramic pads designed for optimal performance under street and occasional track conditions. Optional RC5 Race Pads, made of carbon metallic, are available for extreme track conditions with optimal operating temperatures between 482°F – 1472°F. The kit comes with CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets that allow the larger calipers to bolt directly to the OEM caliper locations. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are standard, improving pedal feel and response. All Ksport big brake kits include a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturer defects.
