The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit offers a substantial upgrade in stopping performance for your BMW E60/E61 5-Series. The calipers, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, are extremely lightweight (just over 7 lbs each) and feature differential bore configurations with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers. They also include machined protection grooves, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium retainer clips, and stainless steel wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while stainless steel brake lines resist expansion under pressure. Due to the caliper size, each unit requires four brake pads. This kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating design mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping and cupping of the braking surface. Standard on SuperComp systems are cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler. The unique slot design on the rotors aids in reducing braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional designs. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment. Optional slotted rotors are available for track-focused applications. Included as standard are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, made from NAOC ceramic material and designed for optimal braking under street and occasional track conditions. These pads operate effectively between 194°F – 1022°F, offer a 50% reduction in brake dust compared to race pads, and minimize noise and rotor wear. For more extreme use, Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available as an upgrade, designed for optimal performance between 482°F – 1472°F and not recommended for street use. Installation is facilitated by CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets designed specifically for your vehicle, allowing the larger calipers to bolt directly to the OEM caliper locations. The kit comes with DOT-compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines for improved pedal feel and quicker response. All Ksport big brake kits carry a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturer defects. This product is made to order and is non-refundable once ordered. It is compatible with BMW 5 Series E60/E61 models from 2004-2010, including variants like the 525i, 530i, 525xi, and 528i with M54 2.5L and N52 3.0L engines. It is specifically noted that this kit excludes XI and M5 models, and is designed for front axle applications.
