The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide the ultimate stopping power for your Volkswagen MK4 Golf. This kit integrates advanced brake technology to drastically reduce brake fade and ensure consistent performance by continuously cooling the brake pads. At the heart of this system are the extreme lightweight SuperComp calipers, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. These calipers feature a differential bore configuration with significantly larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, weighing just over 7 lbs each. They include machined protection grooves for bridge tubes, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over stock, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each SuperComp caliper requires four brake pads due to its substantial size. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which minimizes rotating and unsprung weight and prevents thermal stresses from warping the disc. The unique slot design on the rotors effectively reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more efficiently than conventional designs. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Slotted rotors are recommended for track use, while cross-drilled rotors are suggested for daily-driven vehicles. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, formulated with NAOC ceramic for optimal street and occasional track use, offering reduced dust and noise.
