The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit is engineered for the BMW E31 8-Series, offering the ultimate in stopping power. This kit integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continually cool the brake pad surface during braking. The SuperComp caliper is a standout feature, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum and weighing just over 7 lbs. It boasts a differential bore configuration with much larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Due to their size, the SuperComp calipers require four brake pads each. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating design mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping or cupping. The unique rotor slot design minimizes braking noise and expedites the expulsion of gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Ksport offers two pad options: SC5 Street Pads (NAOC ceramic, optimal for street and occasional track use, 194°F – 1022°F) and RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic, for extreme track conditions, 482°F – 1472°F). The RC5 pads are not recommended for street use due to their high working temperature. The kit includes CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets and D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines for improved pedal feel and response.
