Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit w/ 400x36mm Rotors

This front big brake kit for the VW MK5 Golf features a massive 400mm x 36mm rotor size and an extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper with a differential bore configuration and larger pistons. The caliper is constructed from aircraft-quality billet 6061-T6 aluminum, weighing just over 7 lbs. each, and includes aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM systems, while the D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines improve pedal feel and response. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design also mitigates thermal stresses that can warp the disc or cup the braking surface. The rotors feature a unique slot design to reduce braking noise and expel gas and pad debris more efficiently than conventional designs. Cross-drilled rotors are standard and recommended for daily driven vehicles, while slotted rotors are available and recommended for track use. Ksport SC5 Street Pads are included standard, offering optimal braking for street and occasional track use with reduced dust, noise, and rotor wear. Optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available for extreme track conditions, though not recommended for street use due to high working temperatures.
