Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit

The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver the ultimate in stopping power for your MINI R56 Cooper. This system integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously cool the brake pads during operation. At the core of this kit is the extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, forged from aircraft-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum. It features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, providing massive stopping power. Each caliper weighs just over 7 lbs and includes machined protection grooves for bridge tubes, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines improve pedal feel and response by preventing expansion under pressure. Due to the SuperComp caliper's size, each caliper utilizes four brake pads. The SuperComp systems come standard with a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating disc design mitigates thermal stresses caused by extreme heat, preventing warping and cupping of the braking surface. The unique slot design on the rotor reduces braking noise and expedites the expulsion of gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler than slotted rotors, while slotted rotors are suggested for more frequent track use. Both types offer increased "bite" and continuously clean/refresh the pad surface. This kit includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, made from NAOC ceramic, designed for optimal performance under street and occasional track conditions, with optimal operating temperatures between 194°F – 1022°F. An option for Ksport RC5 Race Pads, made from carbon metallic for extreme track conditions (optimal temperatures 482°F – 1472°F), is also available, though not recommended for street use due to their high working temperature. The kit is compatible with MINI Cooper Hatchback R56 models from 2007-2013, including Base, JCW, JCW GP, and S trims with 1.6L and 1.6L Turbo engines.
