The Ksport SuperComp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver ultimate stopping power for your vehicle, specifically designed for the MINI R50 Cooper models from 2002-2006. Integrating advanced brake technology, this kit significantly reduces brake fade and continuously cools and refreshes the brake pad surface during braking. The SuperComp caliper is an extreme lightweight, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, and features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers. It includes aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM designs, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each caliper requires four brake pads due to its substantial size. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, reducing both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design prevents thermal stresses from warping the disc or cupping the braking surface under extreme heat. The unique slot design on the rotor minimizes braking noise and expels gas and pad debris efficiently. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Standard configuration includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, designed for optimal performance in street and occasional track conditions. For more extreme track use, optional RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available. The kit also features CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets tailored for your vehicle, ensuring a direct bolt-on fit to the OEM caliper location.
