The Ksport SuperComp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver superior stopping power for your BMW E8X 1M Coupe. This comprehensive kit integrates advanced brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously cool the brake pad surface during demanding braking scenarios. The SuperComp caliper, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers. It weighs just over 7 lbs and includes features like machined protection grooves, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM systems, while the stainless-steel braided brake lines prevent expansion under pressure, leading to a firmer pedal feel and quicker response. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design mitigates thermal stresses that can cause warping or cupping of the braking surface. The rotors feature a unique slot design that minimizes braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional designs. Ksport offers both cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily driven vehicles due to better cooling, and slotted rotors, recommended for track use. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which are ceramic pads designed for optimal performance in street and occasional track conditions with optimal operating temperatures between 194°F – 1022°F. These pads offer reduced dust (by 50% or more compared to race pads), noise, and rotor wear. For extreme track conditions, optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available, with optimal operating temperatures between 482°F – 1472°F, though they are not recommended for street use. The brake lines are D.O.T compliant stainless-steel braided lines. Caliper colors can be customized from a range of options, with some finishes incurring additional charges.
