The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide ultimate stopping power for your Volkswagen MK4 Golf 1.8T. The SuperComp caliper, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, is exceptionally lightweight and features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances both pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM designs, while D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines offer improved pedal feel and quicker response by preventing expansion under pressure. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design also mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping or cupping of the braking surface. The rotors feature a unique slot design that reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional designs. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles due to their cooler running temperatures, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use. Customers can choose between Ksport SC5 Street Pads, designed for optimal performance in street and occasional track conditions with reduced dust and noise, or Ksport RC5 Race Pads, made from carbon metallic for extreme track conditions. The SuperComp systems come with CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets that allow for direct bolt-on installation to the OEM caliper location.
