The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver superior stopping power for the Mercedes Benz W204 C-Class. This kit is designed with a substantial 400x36mm rotor size and features an extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper with a differential bore configuration and significantly larger pistons compared to their ProComp calipers. Forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, the calipers weigh just over 7lbs each and incorporate machined protection grooves for bridge tubes. Standard components include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while the stainless-steel brake lines minimize expansion under pressure, leading to improved pedal feel and quicker response. Each caliper in the SuperComp series requires four brake pads. The kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design effectively dissipates thermal stresses caused by extreme heat, preventing disc warping or cupping. The rotors feature a unique slot design to minimize braking noise and expedite the expulsion of gas and pad debris. All rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. This particular kit includes cross-drilled rotors, recommended for daily-driven vehicles due to their tendency to run cooler than slotted rotors. For those prioritizing track performance, slotted rotors are available. Included as standard are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, composed of NAOC ceramic material, designed for optimal braking performance in street and occasional track conditions, with an optimal operating temperature range of 194°F – 1022°F. These pads offer a significant reduction in brake dust and noise compared to race pads. An optional upgrade to Ksport RC5 Race Pads, made from carbon metallic material, is available for extreme track conditions, with optimal operation temperatures between 482°F – 1472°F. It is important to note that the race pads are not recommended for street use due to their high working temperature requirements. The brake lines are D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided lines.
