The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit is engineered to deliver ultimate stopping power for your Volkswagen MK4 Golf 1.8T. This advanced braking system integrates new technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously cool and refresh the brake pad surface during use. At the core of the SuperComp kit is an extreme lightweight caliper, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. This caliper boasts larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, a differential bore configuration, and features such as machined protection grooves, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over stock systems, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. This specific SuperComp series caliper is large enough to require four brake pads per caliper. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing disc warping or cupping. The rotors feature a unique slot design that reduces braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional designs. For daily driven vehicles, cross-drilled rotors are recommended as they tend to run cooler than slotted rotors. This kit comes standard with Ksport SC5 Street Pads, composed of NAOC ceramic material, optimized for street and occasional track use with operating temperatures between 194°F–1022°F. These pads offer a significant reduction in brake dust, noise, and rotor wear compared to race pads. Customization options are available, including a selection of caliper colors such as Ksport Orange, Race Red, Caution Yellow, Jet Black, Bold Blue, and premium finishes like Lightning Silver, High Silver Polish, High Gold Polish, Titanium, Glassy Green, Glassy Blue, Glassy Orange, Glassy Red, Glassy Black, and Hard Anodized Black, some of which incur additional charges.
