The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit is a significant upgrade for the BMW E85/E86 Z4, providing enhanced stopping power through advanced brake technology. At the core of this kit are the extreme lightweight SuperComp calipers, forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. These calipers feature a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than Ksport's ProComp calipers, contributing to improved pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM designs. They are equipped with aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The included stainless-steel braided brake lines are DOT compliant, improving pedal feel and response by preventing line expansion under pressure. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This design also mitigates thermal stresses that can lead to disc warping or cupping. The rotors are cross-drilled, a feature recommended for daily driven vehicles as it helps them run cooler than slotted rotors. Standard equipment includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, made from NAOC ceramic, designed for optimal performance on the street and occasional track use. These pads offer reduced brake dust and noise compared to race pads. For those seeking maximum performance on the track, optional Ksport RC5 Race Pads (carbon metallic) are available, though not recommended for street use due to their higher optimal operating temperature.
