The Ksport Supercomp Rear Big Brake Kit offers enhanced stopping power for BMW 5 Series E60/E61 models produced between 2004 and 2010, specifically excluding the xi and M5 versions. This kit features a 330mm (13-inch) diameter, 32mm thick drilled rotor and a forged aircraft-quality billet aluminum 4-piston caliper, designed to significantly reduce brake fade and ensure consistent performance. The SuperComp caliper is Ksport's most extreme offering, featuring a differential bore configuration with larger pistons than their ProComp calipers. Its lightweight construction, weighing just over 7 lbs, includes protection grooves, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while the stainless-steel braided brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each caliper in this series requires four brake pads, and the kit includes Ksport SC5 street pads, which are ceramic and designed for optimal performance in street and occasional track conditions. This kit utilizes a 2-piece floating disc assembly that reduces both rotating and unsprung weight, while also mitigating thermal stresses that can lead to disc warping. The unique slot design on the rotor helps to reduce braking noise and expel gas and debris more effectively. Ksport rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler than slotted rotors.
