The Sonnax Sure Cure kit SC-6L80-6L90 is a comprehensive reconditioning package for GM 6L80 and 6L90 automatic transmissions. This kit addresses critical wear areas and protects the transmission against future damage. It helps restore shift quality and reduce comebacks by repairing the biggest trouble areas. The package comes with an easy-to-read, step-by-step installation guide that covers the inspection and repair of the most critical areas of the valve body. Note that this kit and its instructions showcase the use of the newer pressure regulator valve (104520-16K); earlier kits (104520-07K) with the earlier pressure regulator valve require pump drilling. The kit includes an Oversized Pressure Regulator & Boost Valve Kit, O-Ringed End Plugs (6), 6 End Plugs, 9 O-Rings (3 Extra), a Heavy Duty 1-2-3-4 Piston, Compensator Feed Regulator Valve Kit, Pump Vanes (13), an Oversized TCC Regulator Valve Kit, an Oversized Converter Feed Limit Valve, an Oversized Actuator Feed Limit Valve, Checkballs (10) (.250" dia., 2 Extra), and a Stator Support Bushing Kit. Required parts for installation include an Oversized Pump Base Plate (Part No. VB-06) and Reamer F-Tool Kits (Part Nos. F-104520-TL11C, F-104740-TL12, F-104740-TL7, and F-104520-TL7C). Symptoms this kit helps to correct include burnt clutches, high TCC slip RPM, shift concerns, low cooler flow, harsh shifts, clutch slippage, overheated transmissions, and codes P0218, P0741, and P0742, which are often caused by loss of oil pressure due to worn components in critical oil circuits or lube-related failure. A warning regarding installation states that the use of an arbor press is required for correct installation of bushings. Do not use a hydraulic press or a bushing driver/hammer combination, as this may distort the bushing and cause fitment issues.
