Overview

The A&A Corvette Secondary Drive System is a unique belt drive solution for C5 and C6 Corvettes. It features a dedicated belt for the accessory drive shaft pulley, separate from the air conditioning belt, which allows for full belt wrap and independent tensioning.

This design effectively eliminates accessory belt slip, a common issue in other systems. Testing demonstrated that the torque required to slip the accessory drive belt was nearly triple that of competing designs, preventing voltage loss at high RPM and belt squeal during slow cornering with the A/C engaged.

The A&A Corvette Secondary Drive System is engineered for C5 and C6 Corvettes, offering a distinct approach to accessory drive management. Unlike other systems that utilize the air conditioning belt for accessory drives, this system employs a dedicated belt for the accessory drive shaft pulley. This configuration provides full belt wrap around both the crankshaft and accessory drive pulleys, allowing for separate belt tensioning. This design significantly reduces accessory belt slip, a common problem in conventional setups. Rigorous testing confirmed that the torque needed to cause belt slip was nearly three times greater than other designs, which translates to no voltage loss at high RPM due to slip and eliminates belt squeal when the A/C is engaged at low speeds. This comprehensive kit includes A&A Corvette's proprietary 8-rib SFI-approved 10% overdrive balancer, along with all necessary belts, hoses, pulleys, and tensioners. The system's design allows for a shorter belt to drive the supercharger, minimizing stretch and belt whip, making it an ideal upgrade for both street-driven and dedicated race Corvettes, with or without air conditioning. Please note that this system requires modification of the stock alternator/power steering bracket; a modified bracket is available as an add-on during checkout. It is also incompatible with stock, standard Innovators West, or ATI balancers.
