This engine oil is highly recommended for the lubrication of spark ignition engines and modern medium- and high-speed four-cycle engines. It is particularly beneficial when operating on fuels that contain corrosive materials such as hydrogen sulfide or halogens. The oil is also highly effective in older gas engines with copper-based bearing metals that are fueled by aggressive bio-gases. Mobil Pegasus 610 offers a high level of chemical stability and resistance to oxidation and nitration, leading to reduced combustion chamber deposits, prolonged lubricant life, excellent control of valve wear, and reduced heat exchange deposits. Its formulation helps to offset the negative effects of corrosive materials on engine components and provides excellent corrosion protection properties, which help prevent wear in cylinders, valve areas, and bearings. This results in longer engine life and potentially lower maintenance costs. Key features include outstanding anti-wear and anti-scuff properties, excellent oxidation and chemical stability for extended drain intervals, effective corrosion resistance, and exceptional detergent/dispersant properties. It also features a non-zinc and non-phosphorus formulation to extend catalytic converter life and performance.
