T-2R 8.8" 31-Spline Helical Gear Differential

The Torsen T-2R differential is a sophisticated, full-time torque-biasing system engineered for the Ford 8.8" rear axle, specifically for models with 31-spline axle shafts. Unlike conventional limited-slip differentials, the T-2R utilizes an advanced helical-gear design, completely eliminating the need for clutch plates or preload springs. This innovative construction ensures continuous, uninterrupted torque delivery and instant response to varying traction conditions. The T-2R's high-bias nature is quantified by its 4:1/3:1 Drive/Coast torque bias ratio (TBR). This means it can deliver up to four times more torque to the tire with better traction than to the tire with less, significantly enhancing grip and control, especially during aggressive maneuvers like tight turns in autocrossing.
