The Motordyne XYZ Pipe System, specifically the G35 G37 AWD Version (MD-042), is engineered as a high-performance Y-pipe offering superior sound, power, and versatility for compatible Nissan and Infiniti models. Through rigorous R&D, including dyno testing of merge distances and angles, Motordyne identified the optimal point for merging exhaust gases to prevent performance degradation, noting that deviations of 10 inches closer or 18 inches farther from the ideal merge point significantly impacted torque and throttle response. The XYZ Pipe's design utilizes a 16-inch Y-pipe length, extended to connect with the stock midpipe flange. This extension provides an opportunity to integrate a resonator for enhanced sound quality or an optional catalytic converter. These modular options are particularly beneficial when used with test pipes, allowing for increased power gains without compromising sound, power, or emissions. The system features easily interchangeable modules connected via a V-band clamp, offering a versatile exhaust solution. Constructed from T-304 stainless steel, the Motordyne XYZ Pipe ensures durability and corrosion resistance. The product is available with three distinct module options: a straight pipe with a 3″ outlet, a 4.5″ glass-packed resonator with a 3″ outlet, or a 4″ high-flow catalytic converter (HFC) with a 3″ outlet.
